Each scholarship has its own requirements which can include GPA, college level for students currently enrolled in an aviation/professional flight degree program at an accredited university, state in which they reside, age, and previous experience.
Many major airlines sponsor scholarships for students candidates who have a desire to become a professional pilot. While most of the scholarships are for women, some aviation scholarships accept applications from both women and men. Candidates may select three scholarships for which they feel they are best qualified.
Women in Aviation International (WAI) has awarded more than $10 million to its members to help them reach their goals in aviation and aerospace careers. WAI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, scholarships and other support programs for both women and men who desire careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
