Hampton Fund Scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in South Carolina and plan to attend an institution of higher learning in South Carolina. Applicants must major in the natural resources discipline such as wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry, marine science or environmental science.
Candidates must be full-time students attending a public or private school in South Carolina. The scholarship covers up to four (4) consecutive years. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist local students further their education in the field of natural resources.
Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or above, and must maintain a 2.5 GPA in order to continue receiving scholarship support for up to four years of college. To apply, students must submit an essay, autobiography, transcript of high school grades, college board scores, rank in high school class, and recent photo along with an application.
The scholarship is offered by Hampton Wildlife Fund, a private, non-profit corporation which partners with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to help promote education, research, management and the administration of game and fish laws. The organization's mission is to create and initiate efforts that will benefit conservation of wildlife, marine and other natural resources in South Carolina.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000.
