Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program
Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program is for students who show a strong commitment to complete a career or technical program. Applicants must demonstrate critical financial need, and perseverance in overcoming adversity.

Candidates must be under the age of 30 and have completed high school or earned a high school equivalency credential. They may choose to complete a career or technical program up to 2 years at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies. Applications open in March every year.

The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr.

The Horatio Alger Association was established in 1947 and named after Horatio Alger Jr., a 19th century author who wrote about overcoming adversity. The scholarship encourages students to pursue their educational goals and make their dreams come true. Over 100 scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
