Students applying must submit an essay they have written that has also been published in the local or school newspaper. The essay should discuss the heritage of the Iranian people and how they have contributed to our society, or the achievements of scientists and scholars who are Iranian.
One winner from each of three categories will be selected. The High School Recognition Award is $500, the Undergraduate Recognition Award and the Graduate Recognition Award are each $1,000. Applicants will be judged on their academic merits and the original content and overall effectiveness of their essay.
The Persian Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Iranian students studying in the U.S. The foundation encourages students to share their knowledge about the Persian culture, history and heritage.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
