The scholarship is unique in that the amount of the scholarship awarded covers up to five years of college. In addition, the amount received each year continues to increase. To be eligible, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be active in volunteer work within their communities. They must also have financial need.
Applicants must be enrolled full time in a U.S. accredited college or university. They can attend either a two- or four-year institution. Scholarships include a general scholarship, a STEM scholarship for students studying in the areas of science, technology, engineering or math, and scholarships for Chinese-Americans students.
The scholarship is sponsored by Scholarship America, a leader in providing scholarships and educational support for students. The organization works with business and other organizations who want to contribute toward helping America's youth have an opportunity for a post-secondary education.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000 - $15,000.
