TCI recognizes that tall people, especially youth, may have diminished feelings about their height. The scholarship encourages students to look at themselves as vertically gifted, not just tall. The scholarship also rewards students for pursuing their post-secondary education.
The scholarship is offered by Tall Clubs International, a non-profit organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that creates awareness that tall people have problems, too. It is a social organization for tall people. Through local clubs across the country, the organization unites tall people in social events, travel, and conventions where they can foster mutual respect and admiration for tall people.
Eligible students may request an application online, or they may search for a club nearest to them and apply. Clubs are available in 26 U.S. states as well as Canada.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
