AMVETS Scholarships

AMVETS Scholarships
AMVETS Scholarships are offered to veterans, active duty military members, guard and reserves and their children or grandchildren. Seven different scholarships are awarded each year.

Scholarships are based on financial need and merit. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. The scholarships provide financial assistance for veterans, service members, and their families, including children or grandchildren of veterans who are deceased. Applicants must attend accredited U.S. schools.

Applicants may attend school either part-time or full-time. They may be undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in educational programs that will lead to a certificate or degree, including online educational programs.

AMVETS (American Veterans) is a non-profit organization that was formed by U.S. World War II veterans and is chartered by U.S. Congressional Law. The organization works to provide for the needs of U.S. veterans and their families, including job training, employment assistance, educational assistance, and other programs and services that improve the quality of life for veterans and their families.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $4,000.
