HBCU Connect Minority Student Scholarship Program

The HBCU Connect Minority Scholarship Program makes available several scholarships every year to minority applicants who attend or plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The scholarship can be applied to tuition or books for the semester in which the funds are received.

HBCU Connect is the largest student and alumni organization of Historically Black College and University supporters on the planet. Founded in 1999, they have given away thousands in scholarship dollars to deserving college students. They are dedicated to keeping HBCU students and graduates connected with each other and with opportunities for advancement.

All funds are raised and disbursed from their non-profit arm "The HBCU Foundation, Inc." which is a certified 501c(3) organization.

Students are typically required to complete an online application, and submit an essay answering an HBCU related question. The question changes every year.

Final candidates will be chosen on the basis of eligibility, quality of essay, resume, objectives, accomplishments, and financial need.

The deadline for this scholarship usually VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
