The Presidential Diversity Scholarship
The Presidential Diversity Scholarship is available to first-year students who attend St. Lawrence University as well as students who transfer to Saint Lawrence. All applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above, and they must have a strong commitment to racial and ethnic diversity.
Students of African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic American or Native American heritage, as well as students of other races who support racial and ethnic diversity, may apply. The scholarship is renewable for all four years of college, making it a full-tuition scholarship.
Eligible students may apply online by submitting an application and completing an essay that describes how their experiences will contribute to the culture of diversity at St. Lawrence University. The scholarship is awarded to students who have strong academic performance and also demonstrate financial need.
St. Lawrence University is the oldest continuously coeducational institution of higher learning in the state of New York. In 2014, enrolled students came from 47 states and 48 countries with 21 percent being diversity students. It is located in Canton, New York, north of Syracuse.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $32,000.
