Narrative Prize For Writers

narrative_prize

Narrative Prize is an annual prize awarded for the best short story, novel excerpt, poem, or work of literary nonfiction published by a new or emerging writer whose work becomes selected for publishing in Narrative Magazine. Submissions may be made at any time during the year.

Writings can be submitted during the year and can include a short story, novel excerpt, poem, one-act play, graphic story, or nonfiction. Narrative editors will review all writing submitted and select as the winner the best work by a new or emerging writer. Sometimes two writers are selected to share the award if both works are found to be deserving of the prize.

The prize is open to anyone who has a gift for writing and an interest in short stories, poems, plays, and novels.

Narrative is a non-profit organization founded in 2003 that publishes a free, online library of new literature by both celebrated authors as well as new and emerging writers. Their mission is to support writing talent and readership across the globe.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
