AORN Foundation Scholarships provide education funding for nursing students. As the philanthropic arm of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses), a non-profit organization that provides critical funding for resources and programs that support patient safety, the scholarships are available to national and international students.
Applicants must be in a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) that will lead to initial licensure as an Registered Nurse. These include bachelor, master, and doctoral candidates. Applicants must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Winners will be selected based on academics/transcripts, essay, financial need, and accurate completion of the scholarship application.
The program requires a strict verification of successful completion of coursework with grades of 3.0 or higher and copies of receipts of payment for allowable covered expenses. A check for the amount paid will be processed and sent to the recipient within 10-15 business days of receipt of the documentation.
Applicants will be required to obtain and attach an official transcript from their current program, and/or official transcript from your most recently completed degree or course work showing at least 9 credit hours. Copies will not be accepted. Members of the AORN board of directors, the foundation's board of trustees, scholarship committee and AORN staff are not eligible to apply.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount usually VARIES.
