
Qualifying students must be a full-time high school senior with a grade point average of at least 2.8 and have demonstrated through school activities or work experience a strong commitment to civic involvement.
Founded in June 1999 by Comcast Corporation, the Comcast Foundation has donated more than $90 million to non-profit organizations. Programs are selected based on their impact on the community. The Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program focuses on giving students around the country an opportunity to prepare for their future and make a positive impact on their communities. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for college costs and expenses. It is non-renewable and is not based on financial need.
Students must be nominated by high school principals or guidance counselors who can also assist qualifying students with the application process. The number of scholarships awarded each year varies.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
