St. Anthony's Medical Center Foundation Scholarships

St. Anthony's Medical Center Foundation Scholarships
St. Anthony's Medical Center Foundation Scholarships awarded a total of $161,000 in 22 scholarships to children of St. Anthony's Medical Center. The scholarships will help defray college costs for students planning to attend a four-year college in Missouri, Southern Illinois University or the University of Illinois-Urbana.

Scholarships are awarded through two programs that are funded by St. Anthony's Medical Center Foundation. Both programs are open to children of St. Anthony's. Academically qualified students with financial need are eligible for the Norbert Siegfried Scholarships for Sons and Daughters of Employees. Other students with high academic performance may qualify for the Foundation Academic Excellence Scholarships.

To be eligible for Norbert Siegfried Scholarships, students must have a 3.0 grade point average and demonstrate financial need. The award amounts vary from $2,000 to $10,000 and are renewable. The Foundation Academic Excellence Scholarships require students to maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average. Typically at least five awards of $10,000 are given and they are renewable.

Since 2006, the Foundation has given $2.8 million in scholarships, giving 193 students a chance to pursue their higher education goals. It is one of the largest programs of its kind in the community.

Working with the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation, St. Anthony's goal is to award a total of 71 scholarships by the close of the year totaling nearly $500,000.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 to $10,000.
