Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) was founded in 1975 with the mission to provide scholarships and other assistance to Hispanic students and increase the number of Hispanic college graduates. It is now the largest nonprofit organization in support of Hispanic higher education.
HSF General College Scholarships are for students who are of Hispanic heritage and plan to attend either a two-year or four-year U.S. accredited college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. To be eligible, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
In addition to scholarships for high school students entering college for the first time, HSF offers scholarship opportunities for community college students and transfer students, and graduate students.
Eligible students must be full-time students and must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal financial aid.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
