Walmart Foundation Scholarship Programs include two scholarship programs, one for Walmart employees and another for children or dependents of employees. They are the Walmart Associate Scholarship and the Walmart Dependent Scholarship.
Employees of Walmart or Sam's Club in the U.S. may apply for a Walmart Associate Scholarship. Employees must have worked for a division of Walmart at least six months in order to be eligible and must also demonstrate financial need. Awards are based on the type of education program chosen. For example, an Associates Degree program awards up to $2,000 per year and a Bachelors Degree program awards up to $3,000 per year. Employees must maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
The Walmart Dependent Scholarship is for children or dependents of U.S. Walmart or Sam's Club employees. They also must show financial need and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. This scholarship awards $13,000 over a four-year college program.
The Walmart Foundation supports education, workforce development, environmental programs, and health and wellness initiatives. The foundation recently donated $10 million in academic scholarships to further the education of their employees and the children of Walmart employees.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000 - $13,000.
