The Community Foundation For Greater Atlanta Scholarships
The Community Foundation For Greater Atlanta Scholarships include 12 different scholarships open to students in the greater Atlanta area who are planning to attend college full time. Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements and deadlines.

Some scholarships are for students with financial need. These include Dreams2 Scholarship Fund, Nancy Penn Lyons Scholarship Fund, Everett Williams Scholarship Fund, and the James M. & Virginia M. Smyth Scholarship Fund for students with financial need and who live in Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee.

Other scholarships are for students entering specific fields of study. These include
Steve Dearduff Scholarship Fund for students pursuing degrees in medicine and social work, William Lucas Memorial Scholarship for students from Atlanta or Gainesville majoring in social work, education or allied health, and Tech High School Alumni Assoc./W.O. Cheney Merit for students pursuing degrees in mathematics, engineering or one of the physical sciences.

Some of the scholarships are for students from specific schools, such as Lester W. Butts Scholarship Fund for students graduating from Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta. The Helen & Vernon Crawford Scholarship Fund is for adults.


The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
