Los Padres Foundation Scholarships offer many opportunities for Hispanic, Puerto Rican and Latino students in the states of New York or New Jersey to earn scholarships for college. Eligible students must plan to enroll full-time at a two-year or four-year college.

The College Tuition Assistance Program is available for Hispanic high school students living in New York or New Jersey who are the first member of their family to attend college. They must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. The scholarship is not renewable and can be used in the freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of college.

The Second Chance Scholarship is awarded to Puerto Rican/Latino students who have financial need and plan to return to college, trade school or an apprenticeship program. They must live in New York or New Jersey. The scholarship is renewable and is to be used in the freshman year.

Los Padres Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 by Edgar and Lillian Rios. Their mission is to help needy Puerto Rican/Latino students in New York and New Jersey have the opportunity they did to pursue and complete their higher educational goals. Since the Rios's began the foundation, they have awarded 225 scholarships to deserving students.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $3,000.
