St. Andrews Scholarship
St. Andrews Scholarship offers a great opportunity for undergraduate college students in their senior year who want to continue their studies in Scotland. It is open to students who are of Scottish descent.

Students applying must reside and be enrolled in a school within 250 miles of New York State. U.S. citizenship is required along with a grade point average of 2.5 or above. Students must also provide proof of financial need. The scholarship award covers one year of graduate study in Scotland, including tuition, board, transportation and other college expenses.

Eligible students must be currently enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university. In addition to academics and financial need, applications will be judged on extracurricular activities and references from professors. Students need to apply in their senior year of college. Six finalists will be invited to New York where the scholarship committee will chose two for the scholarship award.

The scholarship is funded by St. Andrew's Society of the State of New York. The charitable, non-profit organization was formed in 1756 in New York by Scottish and Scottish Americans to provide support and financial assistance to people of Scottish origin. Since 1956, the society has awarded over 150 scholarships.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000 - $30,000.
