AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students awards more than 80 scholarships each year to undergraduate and graduate students who are accounting majors. Eligible minority groups include African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native American, or Asian American.

Eligible students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and must have completed at least 30 credit hours before applying. They must be currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university pursuing a degree in accounting and a CPA certification. Students must be U.S. citizens and attending a college in the U.S.

Funding for the scholarship is provided by the American Institute of CPA's Foundation. The organization was founded in 1922 to support education for more future CPA's and encourage the growth of minorities in the accounting profession. The organization also receives financial support from Robert Half International, New Jersey Society of CPA's and Accounting Education Foundation of Texas Society of CPA's.

Since the organization was founded in 1922, over $14.6 million in scholarships have been awarded to 8,000 accounting scholars.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
