Nestlé Very Best In Youth Program is open to high school students between the ages of 14 to 18 who have excellent grades as well as a strong record of commitment to their communities. All students who are U.S. citizens as well as the District of Columbia may apply.
High school students, including those who are home-schooled may apply by describing how they have made a significant difference in their communities and in the lives of its residents. Students who have won in the past have accomplished amazing feats in the areas of conservation, clean water, energy conservation, and providing services to those who are disabled or in need.
For the past 15 years, Nestlé has awarded youth for their community efforts. Winners receive a donation in their name to a charity of their choice. In addition, winning students and their parents receive an expense-paid trip to Los Angeles to attend the Nestlé Very Best In Youth awards ceremony. Travel and accommodation expenses are paid by Nestle. Winners also receive spending money.
The program is sponsored by Nestle, a leading producer of chocolate, as well as food and other nutritional products sold around the world. The company is a firm believer in rewarding youth for their involvement in improving communities and setting positive examples for America's youth.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
