Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) National Scholarships are offered to Black youth in Canada to help them achieve their goal of a post-secondary education. The annual scholarship offers scholarship awards in three categories.
Eligible students must be African-American, Canadian citizens between the ages of 17 and 30 who are enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian college or university. In addition, students must have a high academic record and be able to demonstrate financial need. They must also demonstrate an active involvement in helping their communities.
To apply, eligible students may submit an online application and submit along with a transcript of grades, two letters of recommendation, financial information, and a cover letter that explains why they should be awarded a scholarship.
The scholarships are sponsored by the Black Business and Professional Association. The non-profit organization is based in Toronto and was founded in 1983. It is dedicated to providing equal opportunities for African-Americans in business, employment, education and economic development.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
