YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) awards scholarships each year to high school students interested in a career in the fashion industry. Scholarships are awarded to students from schools who are members of the YMA FSF.
Students may choose one of over 45 participating colleges and universities to attend. These schools range from design to business colleges and are located across the U.S. The scholarship is based on merit. Students applying must have good grades and will be required to complete a case study and interview.
Students also have to write an essay about their career goals, job and volunteer experience, and an explanation of how the scholarship will benefit them.
YMA Scholarship Fund is a national nonprofit association that was established in 1971. It's members include people from the fashion industry who want to help students interested in the fashion arts. In addition to the scholarships, members help students through internships and by providing mentor opportunities and career programs.
Up to 100 students are chosen each year to receive scholarships. Since the organization began, the YMA FSF has awarded over $7 million in scholarships to more than 800 students across the nation.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in SEPTEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
