Out of the Easy College Scholarship Essay Contest

Out of the Easy College Scholarship Essay Contest
Out of the Easy College Scholarship Essay Contest is open to any high school senior who wants to win a college scholarship by entering an essay contest. Students attending high school in the U.S., DC, and U.S. territories or being home schooled may apply.

Students must be between the ages of 17 and 18. To apply, applicants must write an essay in response to a quote from the book David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. Essays must be submitted by the student's English teacher, school librarian, guidance counselor or other college application mentor. Parents or legal guardians of home-schooled students may submit their entries.

All entries will be judged on how well they demonstrate their understanding of the theme, their knowledge of Dickens' characters, and on style, content, grammar and original content. The scholarship is offered by Penguin Group (USA) Inc. one of the largest publishers of English-language trade books in the world and a global leader in children's publishing.
