Luce Scholars Program
Luce Scholars Program is open to college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals in a variety of fields who have had limited exposure to Asia. Candidates must be under 30 years old and interested in a fellowship in Asia.

The fellowship program includes stipends, language training and professional placements for Luce Scholars in Asia for one year. Each year, 15-18 scholars are chosen as Luce Scholars. Applicants must be nominated by participating colleges and universities. Students chosen are those with outstanding academic achievement and leadership capabilities as well as a strong desire to learn more about Asia.

About 75 colleges and universities are among those participating in the program and eligible to recommend students for the Luce Scholars Program. The program is available to students nationally and is one of the most prestigious fellowships offered. Eligible students must be U.S. citizens and have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

The Luce Scholars Program is funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and was established in 1974 to increase understanding of Asia among outstanding students who represent potential leaders in American society. The program accepts qualified students from all fields of study.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
