Eligible students must plan to attend college full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. They must major in a discipline that includes either music, the arts or a related field.
Each year since 2007, Sub Pop has awarded three scholarships to deserving students. Sub Pop is an independent record label company located in Seattle, Washington. The company was founded in 1988 and has recorded artists such as Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Lyla Foy, Mirel Wagner, and many others.
Three scholarships are awarded every year. To apply, students need to choose one of four essay questions to respond in no more than one page. Digital links or hard copies of artwork may be submitted along with the application.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000 - $7,000.
