Alcoa Recycling Scholarship
Alcoa Recycling Scholarship is available to high school and college students who take part in the DoSomething.org national recycling campaign. Students may major in any field.

To qualify, students may either write information on the importance of recycling and send it to six of their friends, or they can collect and recycle 50 aluminum cans and submit a picture on DoSomething.org/50cans.

DoSomething.org is one of the largest non-profit organizations for young young people who want to work for social change. The organization is based in New York City and has 3 million members. Campaigns for young people include poverty, violence, the environment, bullying, homelessness and much more. One student every year is chosen to receive a one-time-only scholarship.

The scholarship is funded by Alcoa, Inc., the world's third largest producer of aluminum. They were founded in 1888 and are headquartered in New York City. The company has operations in 31 countries.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
