Kimberly-Clark Bright Futures Scholarship Program offers scholarships to the children of Kimberly-Clark employees across 14 U.S. states and Canada. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, leadership, work experience and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Scholarship candidates must be high school students planning to attend full-time an accredited college or university. They must also be children of Kimberly-Clark employees. Candidates must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Recipients may choose to attend any accredited college.
The Bright Futures Scholarship Program was established in 1993 by the Kimberly-Clark Foundation, the charitable arm of Kimberly-Clark Corporation that works to support and strengthen families worldwide. Since the program began, it has awarded scholarships to 1,800 students, totaling $36 million.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation is a Fortune 500 corporation that produces personal care and other paper-based consumer products. Kimberly-Clark brand names include Kleenex facial tissue, Kotex feminine hygiene products, Cottonelle, Scott and Andrex toilet paper, Wypall utility wipes, KimWipes scientific cleaning wipes, and Huggies disposable diapers. The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000 - $20,000.
