Chesapeake Energy Scholarship is available to female, minority, and socially disadvantaged high school seniors who are graduating from a high school in the Dallas Independent School District. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

All applicants must be in a college preparatory program preparing for college. The scholarship is renewal each year for up to four years of college, as long as the student maintains their grade point average and good standing. The scholarship money may be used for tuition, room and board, books and other school-related fees.

The scholarship is offered by The Dallas Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1929 to serve citizens in North Texas. It is the oldest community foundation in Texas, serving the interest of donors and the needs of the community.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000.
