Smith Scholarship Foundation

Smith Scholarship Foundation
Smith Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors graduating from a high school in Alabama. The amount of funds awarded will be evaluated on a case by case basis depending on the student’s grades, test scores, anticipated major, proximity to family, and other available resources and needs.

Applicants must be graduating seniors and not currently attending college. They must be graduates of an Alabama high school. Candidates must have at least a C+ GPA and must attach a copy of their transcript with their application. Three letters of recommendation are also required, and a letter of acceptance from the institution they will be attending.

Scholarship money may be used for tuition, room, board, books, and required fees, in addition to dorm packs, professional attire, winter clothing, and individual scholar needs for students studying abroad. All scholars must be full-time students working towards a degree.

The scholarship was started by Mignon C. Smith who was born in Birmingham, Alabama and named the scholarship after her parents, J. Craig and Page T. Smith in 2005.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $15,000.
