The scholarship is awarded to women across the country every year. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be enrolled full-time at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the U.S. Selection of candidates is based on academic performance, leadership qualities demonstrated by participation in community service and/or extracurricular activities, and overall quality of essay.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage more women to enter technology fields, including computer science, information technology, management information systems and other computer related fields.
The scholarship is offered through Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading technology solutions provider headquartered in Folsom, California. Since 2007, the organization has awarded nearly $100,000 to more than 60 women across the country.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
