c_cap_meatless_monday_recipe_contest
C-CAP Meatless Monday Recipe Contest is an annual culinary contest for high school students from underserved communities. It is a nationwide competition sponsored by the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) Meatless Monday Recipe Contest. The contest challenges young chefs to create an innovative meatless noodle dish that will impress judges.

Judges include a panel of some of the most famous chefs in the country. Entries will be judged according to originality, flavor, healthfulness, ease of preparation, and writing ability. Scholarship awards include regional awards and one national grand prize winner.

The competition is the creation of nonprofit The Monday Campaigns, an organization that provides research, recipes, educational and promotional materials to help participants live a healthier, more eco-friendly life.

The competition is open to both junior and senior high school students. C-CAP’s mission is to foster interest in and provide career opportunities in the food service industry for underserved youth through culinary arts education and employment.

High schools in C-CAP regions are located throughout New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Hampton Roads, Virginia.

The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
