Applicants must major in one of the following fields: Film, media, journalism, writing, law, political science, public administration, and international studies. They may also major in history, sociology, and religious studies if the concentration is on Muslim communities or social justice.
Candidates must be either juniors or seniors, or graduate students, including Masters degree and Ph.D. candidates. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. To apply, students must submit a completed application, video introduction, resume, college transcripts, work samples and 2 letters of reference.
The Islamic Scholarship Fund was established with the goal to increase American Muslim representation in media and politics in order to improve public opinion and policy. The organization is located in the San Francisco Bay area. Since the organization began 7 years ago, ISF has awarded $500,000 in scholarships to 160 students.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in AUGUST of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
