One scholarship per year is awarded. The Mildred C. Hanson SIOR Memorial Fund was established in 2008 to encourage and assist qualified female students in obtaining an education that will lead them into productive careers in the commercial real estate industry. Mildred C. (Millie) Hanson was a specialist in office and industrial sales and leasing and served as President of both the SIOR New Jersey Chapter and the Industrial and Office Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area.
The SIOR Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1962 to promote and support initiatives that expand, educate, and enhance the commercial real estate community. The organization provides scholarships to deserving students who could not otherwise have studied on the college level. They are located in Washington, D.C.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JULY of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
