New York Women in Communications Inc. Foundation Scholarship Program is open to women who are high school seniors and permanent residents of NY, NJ, CT or PA, and also attend a high school in one of these states. Applicants must major in a communications-related field.

Candidates may major in advertising, broadcasting, communications, English, film, journalism, marketing, new media, public relations and other majors relating to the field of communications. A GPA of 3.2 or higher is required. They must also demonstrate need and a strong commitment and involvement in the field of communications.

Each year, New York Women in Communications awards 15-20 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students who intend to pursue or further a career in communications. The NYWICI Scholarship Application period generally opens in November.

New York Women in Communications, Inc. is a non-profit organization for communications professionals in the New York metropolitan area. The organization was founded in 1929 and supports women in the field of communications at every career stage from student to corporate executives. Membership includes communication students, professionals at entry levels, mid-career stages and top management, and entrepreneurs.​

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $10,000.
