The scholarship is possible through a family fund that was established to support five students each year throughout their education in the fields of Journalism and Political Science. Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, demonstrated financial need, and major in Journalism or Political science at an accredited U.S. institution. All applicants must be American citizens or permanent residents.
The scholarship is offered through The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). It is the goal of the Jamaluddin Family Foundation and founder Aziz Jamaluddin to have a generation of educated Muslims to speak out and communicate the true meaning of Islam in all types of media. The Jamaluddin family arranged for a scholarship fund to be established to support five students each year throughout their education in the fields of Journalism and Political Science.
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is dedicated to fostering a better understanding of Islam, to strengthen and develop American Muslim communities, and to share the contributions of the American Muslim community. The organization offers several scholarships for Muslin students ranging from $1,000 - $15,000.
