Zamora was one of the first openly gay men with HIV to appear in popular television. Before he passed away in 1994, he was a strong advocate for federal HIV prevention and care programs and encouraged young people to become actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JULY of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000.
